Mary Hill Arbuthnot. Time for Poetry. Scott, Foresman and Company. 1961, Pages: 207, Reading Level: 2-5rd, Ages: 3-6, Genre: Poetry Rating-
A collection of poetry that is for different ages of students. This book allows children to read the poetry, having the poetry read to them, and relating poetry to other things. I would use this book to help develop my student's imagination. It is always good to have a strong imagination to make reading enjoyable. This book doesn't have that good of illustrations so after they read a poem I would want them to illustrate to help them picture what they just read.

I don't think I've ever heard of this poetry book! I wonder what grade level this book is meant for? I feel without the pictures or colors it is definitely not meant for younger kids!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your point about have students use their imagination. Critical thinking and understanding the reading is important in completing the assignment.
ReplyDeleteI like the diversity of poems in this book for age groups. I think that could be really useful in the classroom.
